FORT WORTH, TX – Amid heavy rains, a driver of a semi-truck struck a concrete barrier on the I-35 westbound overpass, leaving the cab hanging slightly over the bridge Thursday.
This crash took place around 3:30 a.m., FOX Weather reports. Upon arrival, crews altered the virtual hanging position into a horizontal position. As the source’s photo shows, the cab was significantly damaged, as was the windshield, which was broken into several pieces.
Due to the nature of this wreck, crews had to close all of the Evergreen Parkway lanes along the collision site and two right lanes on I-35 to accommodate the debris and truck removal and for the investigation period.
Officials have not confirmed the specific details behind Thursday’s crash, but speculate that weather conditions did play a role. At this time, it is unclear if the driver was injured or hospitalized.
New details will be posted as our news team uncovers more information.
