Man, 21, dies after rear-ending trash truck in Bonita Springs

BONITA SPRINGS, FL – A 21-year-old man rear-ended a trash truck with his car on I-75 North, leading the truck to overturn and claiming the young man’s life Friday.

This collision happened before 2 a.m. between Bonita Beach and Corkscrew Road in the area of mile marker 120, according to WINK News. The impact also led the truck driver, a 51-year-old man from Lehigh Acres, to sustain minor wounds and the car’s roof to become completely totaled.

Florida Highway Patrol, The Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and Lee County Fire Department all responded to the collision site, assisting with the standard scene clearance procedure.

Officials reopened the area seven hours later, around 8 a.m.
