3 die, 1 injured when driver in no-pass zone in Chico strikes big rig

CHICO, TX – An SUV caught on fire after its driver, a woman, struck a big rig in a no-pass zone, leading her and the three passengers with her to die and injuring the truck driver.

This collision happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on Farm Road 1810 West near County Road 1340, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram

Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that the tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized for minor injuries. The passengers with the SUV driver were a 3-year-old toddler (who did not wear a seatbelt), an 8-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old girl.

DPS has identified the SUV driver as 32-year-old Brandy Nicole Price.

Since the toddler and two girls are minors, our newsroom will not mention their names here.

If new developments are made, then our newsroom will provide updates.
