COLLEGEDALE, TN – A 46-year-old woman who ran a red light died after striking a semi-truck head-on and hitting another vehicle Wednesday.
The Chattanooga Police Department told News Channel 9 that the wreck occurred on the Apison Pike. After ambulance crews arrived, they rushed the 46-year-old woman and two other passengers from a car to a hospital.
The 46-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries, while the surviving occupants suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
According to additional information from police, the third vehicle that was hit was waiting at a traffic light. Investigators did not confirm if that driver was hurt.
