Driver loses life as tractor-trailer hits tree in Orangeburg

ORANGEBURG, SC – A driver of a tractor-trailer veered off I-26 West at mile marker 148 and struck a tree, which led them to their death Monday. 

The Island Packet revealed this single-truck collision happened before 6:15 p.m. South Carolina Highway Patrol started an investigation and has not yet been able to pinpoint the circumstances behind this wreck, nor have they publicly announced the victim’s name.
