RICHMOND COUNTY, GA — Minor injuries were reported Tuesday afternoon following a two-truck wreck in southwest Augusta, reports WRDW.
The accident happened on Deans Bridge Road at Etterlee Road, in the Bath-Edie area. It was first reported at around 2:21 p.m.
Although the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said a tractor-trailer and a garbage truck were involved.
At least one person suffered minor injuries, but it was unclear whether the patient was taken to a hospital.
Authorities advised motorists to seek alternate routes around the scene, as all southbound lanes in the area closed by 3:45 p.m.
By 6:40 p.m., one southbound lane was reopened to traffic.
An investigation by the RCSO remains ongoing.
