SUV driver left seriously hurt after crash with semi in east Tampa

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — One person suffered serious injuries Friday night when their SUV collided with a semi-truck in east Tampa, according to WTSP.

The accident unfolded on the eastbound lanes of East Adamo Drive (State Highway 60), at Orient Road. Local police were dispatched to the scene just after 5:30 p.m.

Although an investigation into the cause of the wreck remains underway, officials said the driver of the SUV was seriously injured. No updates on their condition have been shared since.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area, as eastbound Adamo Drive was closed between Maydell Drive and Orient Road during the emergency response.
