1 killed, 1 injured in crash with 18-wheeler near SW Hope Hull

LOWNDES COUNTY, AL — A 73-year-old man died after a two-vehicle wreck last Thursday near Hope Hull that left a 75-year-old woman injured, reports WAKA 8 Action News.

The accident happened on Lowndes County Road 6 near Interstate 65, on November 16, at about 5:40 p.m.

A preliminary investigation by Alabama State Troopers indicate Michael Harris, a local resident, was driving a passenger car when it collided with a tractor-trailer.

First responders pronounced Harris deceased at the scene.

His passenger, 75-year-old Suzanna Harris, was transported to Baptist Medical Center South. The severity of her condition has not been disclosed.

No injuries to the truck driver, an Idaho resident, has been reported.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash.
