Semi-truck crash, fuel leak causes delays on I-10 in Walton County

WALTON COUNTY, FL – Authorities responded to a semi-truck accident late Saturday afternoon on Interstate 10 near DeFuniak Springs, reports News Channel 7 WJHG.

The incident took place on the westbound lanes near mile marker 79, east of Boy Scout Road. By about 3:30 p.m., the Walton County Sheriff’s Office and Walton County Fire Rescue had responded to the scene.

Officials did not specify what led up to the wreck, but Walton County Emergency Management crews were also called to the area after the semi-truck was found to be leaking diesel fuel.

One left lane was blocked during the emergency response, creating delays.

No injuries were immediately reported, and no other vehicles appear to have been involved in the collision.
