CONECUH COUNTY, AL — A passenger car rear-ended a big rig early Friday, November 11, near Evergreen, claiming the life of a 42-year-old man, according to AL.com.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) said the fatal wreck occurred about two miles north of the city limits at around 4:15 a.m.
An early investigation found that Carl R. Moye, of Brewton, was driving a 2015 Mazda 6 when his car struck the back of a 2016 Freightliner tractor-trailer.
Moye, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials.
It was unclear whether the driver of the big rig, Jermaine L. Abner, of Greenville, was injured.
The ALEA continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
