Oshkosh, WI, student seriously injured after being hit by tow truck

OSHKOSH, WI – A tow truck struck and seriously injured an Oshkosh teen as they were walking to school yesterday morning, WBAY reports.

The truck-vs.-pedestrian accident happened at about 8 a.m. at the intersection of W. Murdock Avenue and Vinland Street, a few blocks south of Oshkosh North High School. The teen was crossing Murdock when the tow truck made a turn and hit them.

The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital with what police describe as serious injuries.

Police closed the area to traffic so they could investigate. They reopened the roads at about 1 p.m.

“We urge everyone in our community to exercise utmost caution when driving in or around school zones, especially when students are present,” said Principal Michelle Last.
