Man killed when pickup, dump truck collide on US-51 in Woodruff

VILAS CO., WI – A 34-year-old man died Tuesday in a two-vehicle collision involving a Kenworth dump truck in Vilas County, Wisconsin.

According to WJFW 12, the accident occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. on the northbound side of US-51, or the Korean War Veterans Memorial Parkway, near Trapp Road and between Woodruff and Arbor Vitae.

Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of a southbound Chevy pickup truck lost control of his vehicle, causing it to enter the northbound side of US-51. The pickup collided head-on with a northbound Kenworth dump truck.

Authorities declared the driver of the Chevy deceased at the scene. His name has not yet been released to the public.

The Kenworth driver did not sustain injuries in the collision.
