HARTLAND, WI – A section of State Highway 29 in Shawano County was shut down Monday morning after a semi truck and a snowplow collided, FOX 11 News reports.
The collision occurred near S. Highline Road in Hartland around 9:50 am.
Initial reports suggest that the Shawano County Highway Department snowplow was driving in the fast lane when the semi truck rear-ended it. The snowplow was pushed into the median as the semi truck jackknifed into a ditch.
The semi driver was trapped inside the vehicle’s cab and had to be extricated by a fire crew. The driver was airlifted by the ThedaStar helicopter with serious injuries.
The snowplow driver sustained minor injuries.
