MONROE CO., WI – A two-vehicle collision involving an 18-wheeler killed one person Tuesday night in Monroe County, Wisconsin, reports Fox 47.
The accident happened shortly before 8 p.m. near mile marker 141 on I-94 eastbound, just north of Tomah and around 100 miles northwest of Madison.
Police say that a car and an 18-wheeler collided on the interstate, causing both vehicles to catch fire. It’s not yet clear what led to the crash.
The driver of the car sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim.
Officials closed the eastbound side of the interstate while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene.
