Tractor-trailer driver hospitalized following accident on Route 207 in Virginia

CAROLINE COUNTY, VA – Virginia State Police said an accident involving a tractor-trailer sent a driver to the hospital on Tuesday.

According to WRIC, troopers responded to the incident involving a semi and a pickup truck at Route 207 (Rogers Clark Boulevard) and Ladysmith Road in Caroline County.  State Police said their initial investigation found that the driver of a Ford F-150 pickup made a wide turn into the right lane of Route 207 while turning from Ladysmith Road.

A tractor-trailer carrying produce was in the right lane at the time and crashed into the Ford.  The impact caused the semi to overturn into the median of the roadway.

The tractor-trailer driver was taken to the VCU Medical Center for precautionary measures, but no serious injuries were reported.

Lanes were shut down on Route 207 in both directions while authorities were clearing and investigating the wreck.
