RICHMOND, VA – A multi-vehicle collision involving a semi truck left several people injured and blocked traffic on I-95 for several hours on Wednesday afternoon, WTVR CBS 6 reports.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, the accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-95 near mile marker 71.8 around 1:15 pm. Initial reports suggest a disabled vehicle stopped in the left lane triggered the chain-reaction crash.
Several people were transported to nearby hospitals. Their injury statuses are currently unknown, but are not believed to be life-threatening.
The accident remains under investigation.
