GOOCHLAND, VA – A semi-truck driver lost control of his vehicle, leading to a crash that entrapped him and then sent him to a hospital Friday.
The solo crash occurred in the 4600th block of River Road West, according to 12onyourside. Photos from Goochland Fire and Rescue show the truck leaning against a ditch along a snowy wooded area. Fire crews did not specify if they conducted extrication on the man or said if he was able to escape by himself. Regardless, medical helicopter personnel hurried him to a nearby medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening wounds.
Crews closed the area for a significant portion of the day to accommodate the scene clearance and investigation period.
The Goochland County Sheriff’s Office has not confirmed what caused the driver to drift off River Road.
