CARROLL COUNTY, VA – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident involving two tractor-trailers on I-77 Sunday morning, WXII 12 News reports.
According to authorities, the accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-77 near the 8-mile marker just after 5 am. Several passenger vehicles and two tractor-trailers were involved.
A pickup truck reportedly collided with the back of a tractor-trailer and then crashed into the median. This collision caused a chain reaction of crashes that ultimately resulted in the death of 26-year-old Dylan Hammond of Columbus.
Several other drivers were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
