STAFFORD, VA – First responders are investigating the details behind a fiery collision involving a box truck and a big rig on I-95 South Thursday.
This crash occurred around 6 p.m. before exit 140, which leads to Courthouse Road, WUSA9 reports. Due to the nature of this wreck, Virginia Department of Transportation and fire crews had to close the southbound lanes to cast out the fire, for general scene clearance purposes, and for the standard investigation period.
Even after the scene was cleared, traffic was still at a standstill, with backup extending for five miles.
Officials have not disclosed the exact cause of this wreck or said if anyone was injured.
