Mechanical failure causes box truck crash in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, VA – A driver of a box truck hauling around 20,000 pounds of peaches experienced a mechanical failure, causing them to collide with a jersey wall Wednesday.

This solo collision happened around 7:30 a.m. on the Chesapeake Expressway north of the overpass bridge, according to WAVY. Despite the nature of this crash, the motorist was spared from harm.

Officials had to close all of the southbound lanes for a brief amount of time so crews could remove all the peaches from the truck in order to make the process of moving the truck a bit easier.
