I-81 South reopens in Rockbridge Co. after tractor-trailer collision 

ROCKBRIDGE CO, VA – The Virginia Department of Transportation crews have reopened all southbound I-81 lanes following a tractor-trailer collision Wednesday. 

WFXRTV said this took place adjacent to mile marker 197.9 near Fairfield. The collision was initially blocking the left shoulder and left lane. Traffic backup lasted for nearly two hours and finally dissipated around 8:30 a.m. after the scene cleared. 

No official word has been provided concerning the events surrounding this tractor-trailer collision or if anyone was injured.
