Driver killed, passenger hurt in truck rollover crash in King William 

KING WILLIAM, VA – A driver lost his life and a passenger was injured in a truck rollover crash that occurred on Walkerton Landing Road on Friday, July 4. 

WTVR said the events unraveled after 2 p.m. when the driver of a Freightliner M2 had veered off the southbound lane. The driver had overcorrected and reentered the road, which caused the truck to flip over. 

The impact of the collision had thrown the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, from the truck. 

The truck driver died from his injuries at the scene, while his passenger was rushed to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. 

Virginia State Police have since identified the truck driver as 42-year-old  Ricardo Jennings from Washington, D.C. The passenger was identified as a 29-year-old man. 

Troopers are continuing to investigate the details behind the deadly Fourth of July crash.
