Big rig, fuel spill wreck shuts down I-64 West in Goochland Co.

GOOCHLAND COUNTY, VA – VDOT personnel shut down I-64 West starting at Oilville and ending at Wingmead for several hours due to a big-rig wreck that ended in a fuel spillage.

This solo collision took place before 3:30 a.m. Saturday, and crews cleared the area just before 2:30 p.m., WTVR reports. During these closures, commuters were told to take Exit 173, connecting to Route 623. Once drivers took that exit, they would continue going on U.S. 250 West, then Route 617, before finally being able to return to the interstate. 

Emergency responders who were summoned to the scene have not commented on the specifics of this collision, including the exact cause of this wreck, identified the driver, or said if the motorist was injured or had to go to the hospital for treatment.
