Texas Trucking Company Sued for $1 Million After Fiery Crash

ECTOR COUNTY, TX – An Odessa trucking company and an employee are facing a $1 million lawsuit following a fiery collision in October, KOSA reports.

The crash occurred on Highway 285 near the 302 interchange in Reeves County on October 15. A semi-truck driver failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign intersection and collided with another semi, driven by David Noel Montanez. Montanez’s semi caught fire.

The lawsuit contends that the other driver’s negligence caused the crash, and that the trucking company, Truway Xpress, bears some responsibility for failing to to properly vet and train its drivers.
