Tanker truck overturns in Lindale, sending 2 to hospital

LINDALE, TX – Two occupants from a tanker truck were sent to the hospital after their truck overturned around 6 a.m. Thursday on Highway 69 near Sonic Drive-In.

The Lindale Police Department told CBS19TV that prior to the truck rolling over, the truck driver had supposedly clipped another vehicle, and when the truck overturned, 5,000 gallons of diesel fuel spilled onto the road, including a nearby creek.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Smith County Emergency Management Team, and Lonestar Hazmat crews managed to clean up the spill just before 12:40 p.m.

Lindale Police officers did not provide an update on the physical conditions of the parties involved.
