AMARILLO, TX – A semi-truck had to go to the hospital after crashing into two fences at Rustic Farm and then plowing into Batteries Plus Bulbs near I-40 Sunday.
The collision happened at approximately 12:57 a.m., and fire crews arrived at the scene at precisely 1:01 a.m., according to KWTX. Firefighters spent nearly 20 minutes extricating the driver, who was pinned or entrapped inside the truck.
Once the extrication was complete, EMS crews transported the driver to a medical facility. The motorist’smotorist’s condition is currently unknown.
Half of the store was significantly damaged, as shown in a photo from the Amarillo Fire Department. Tracy Gomez, the store owner, has not provided an estimate of the damages or said how long she’ll have to shut down the business for the necessary building repairs.
Officials have not specified what caused the truck driver to lose control of their vehicle.
