NOME, TX – A Ford pickup truck driver lost their life after running a red light and crashing into a semi-truck on Friday.
Fox4Beaumont said the collision took place before 4:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 90 and FM 365. Preliminary details show that the semi-truck driver was going west on Highway 90 and the Ford driver was going north on FM 365.
The impact of the crash led the pickup truck driver to die from their injuries at the scene, while the semi-truck was left uninjured.
The Texas Department of Public Safety closed the area for several hours and reopened all lanes by 10:15 a.m.
DPS did not release the victim’s name, but confirmed he was a local.
The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.
