CHAMBERS CO., TX – An ambulance reported to a single-vehicle crash along the interstate in northeast Chambers County on Tuesday, reports 12 News Now.
The crash happened sometime before 6:2o a.m. on the westbound side of I-10 near Brush Island Road between Winnie and Beaumont.
Police say that for unknown reasons, the driver of the semi lost control of the vehicle and hit the water barrier on the interstate. Damage to the fuel tank on the semi caused a fuel spill on I-10, which prompted lanes closures and a hazmat response.
Medics transported the driver of the 18-wheeler to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
All lanes re-opened by around 10:30 a.m.
A full investigation is underway.
