Fire crews summoned to semi-fire in Sherman

SHERMAN, TX – A driver of a semi-truck struck a jersey barrier on U.S. Highway 75 South, leading the truck to catch on fire, and fire crews took their time to put out the fire Wednesday.

The fiery collision occurred after 5:30 a.m. Authorities shut down both north and southbound lanes, and by 7 a.m., Sherman fire crews were still hard at work extinguishing the flames, according to KXII

Food had also supposedly spilled from the truck, so crews also had to carve out time to clean up the food and remove it from the site.

Police, among the other first responders, said no one succumbed to fatal wounds but did not specify if the driver or anyone else at least suffered minor wounds or had to go to a hospital.

Authorities have not announced any reopening of lanes.
