Fire crews extinguish semi-truck fire near Liberty City 

NEAR LIBERTY CITY, TX – Local fire crews were able to extinguish the flames coming from a semi-truck on I-20 Thursday, CBS 19 TV reported. 

The fire was a result of a crash, which happened near SH 135 and FM 2207 close to milepost 583. 

The Texas Department of Transportation said an outside lane on I-20 was closed until 1 p.m. Travelers were still able to drive past this crash by taking the open lane. At the time of reporting, motorists, if they could, were encouraged to take alternative routes and avoid the area altogether until all lanes reopened in the afternoon. 

Local authorities have not confirmed if the driver was injured.
