LONGVIEW, TX – A driver of a silver SUV had declined to yield the right of way when coming from a private driveway, leading to a crash with a trash truck that led to their death Wednesday.
KLTV said the events unfolded around 11:49 p.m. when the SUV was coming out of that driveway and was then hit by another vehicle. Once those two vehicles made contact, it thrusted the SUV into oncoming traffic on the 5100th block of West Loop 281 where it was finally struck by the garage truck.
Longview Fire / EMS declared the SUV motorist deceased at the scene and then transported one of the drivers to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have not released the victim’s identity nor disclosed the truck driver’s current condition. These details, along with other pertinent pieces of information, will be added as our newsroom uncovers the latest developments.
