Failure to yield leads to 2-semi crash that kills 1, injures another

ODESSA, TX – A 28-year-old man driving a semi-truck failed to yield the right of way, leading to a crash with another semi-truck that left him dead and injured the other driver. 

The semi-truck collision happened at 2:30 a.m. Monday, May 12, at the intersection of Texas 302 and FM 866, according to MRT. The Texas Department of Public Safety declared the 28-year-old man dead and identified him as Luther Bernard Young Jr from Flower Mound. 

The other driver sustained minor injuries and was identified as Derrick Demonte Jones of Fort Worth. EMS crews took Jones to Odessa Medical Center, where he is recovering. 

Young drove a 2019 Freightliner SD 122, and Jones a 2018 International HX620.
