TYLER, TX – Four people sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident that involved a tanker truck and a Nissan car on U.S. Highway 271 on Saturday, July 5.
According to KETK, the two-vehicle accident took place before 2:15 p.m. and warranted a response from Smith County Emergency Services District 2 and firefighters. After arriving at the scene, fire crews extricated three people from the Nissan.
Once the extrication was complete, the three car occupants and one individual inside the tanker truck were rushed to area hospitals.
Authorities did not specify the truck occupant’s physical condition, but said the people from the car were left with life-threatening injuries.
Temporary closures were enacted and appeared to have since been lifted.
