2 lives claimed in head-on wreck with U-haul truck in Dallas

DALLAS, TX – A driver of a pickup truck was going the wrong way on I-30, leading them to strike a U-haul truck head-on, claiming their life and their passenger’s life Sunday.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office told WFAA this two-vehicle wreck happened before 6:30 a.m. near Jim Miller Road. After the two trucks collided, one of them allegedly caught on fire while one person was inside.

Dallas Fire Rescue said they were dispatched to the scene of a crash around 5:49 a.m. also located on I-30, but did not clarify whether this was a separate collision or whether this one was related to the two-truck wreck.

No other details, including the victims’ names, have been released.

New information will be added once new developments surface.
