1 extricated from vehicle after crash with cement truck in Buda

BUDA, TX – One person was extricated from their vehicle and then taken to Ascension Seton Hays for treatment after a crash with a cement truck Thursday.

Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services said this collision happened around 8 a.m. between the 4500th to 6000th block of westbound State Highway 45.

While very little details about this crash are available, first responders said the crash happened when a vehicle and a cement truck collided, leading the vehicle to roll down an embankment.

STARFlight was originally summoned to the scene, to take the injured person to a hospital. However, their transportation services were called off due to weather conditions.

Nonetheless the person, who was left in critical condition, was taken by ground to Ascension where they are recovering.

No additional details including whether anyone will face charges has been revealed.
