Woman dies after being hit by box truck in SE Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN — A woman has died after being struck by a box truck Wednesday morning on Harding Place in southeast Nashville, reports WSMV.

The fatal incident took place on a span of the road (State Highway 255) at the intersection with Linbar Drive. First responders were alerted at around 6:30 a.m.

An investigation remains underway, but local police said the woman was walking a bike across the roadway at the time she was hit.

The victim was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was later pronounced deceased.

Officials noted that the driver received a citation for driving without a driver’s license, but investigators were still working to determine the cause of the crash.
