Trash truck driver loses life to crash involving train in Waverly 

WAVERLY, TN – A driver of a trash truck suffered fatal injuries as a result of a crash that involved a train off Highway 70 Monday, WSMV reports.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office said the events unraveled after 12 p.m. near the intersection of Scepter Road and Sawmill Lane. Deputies said the driver of the truck was pulling out of a private driveway when it went into the path of an oncoming train, causing a crash.

The truck driver died from their injuries at the scene. Deputies have not released the victim’s identity or other information about the crash.
