WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN — One person was hurt Tuesday morning due to a rollover crash involving a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) salt truck in Washington County, reports WJHL.
While the exact location of the accident happened remains unclear, the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) responded to the scene on a stretch of Bailey Bridge Road at about 8:30 a.m.
Preliminary details indicate the truck was traveling northbound and in a downhill orientation. As the driver tried to negotiate a curve on the ice-covered roadway, they lost control, causing the truck to run off the left side of the highway. The vehicle then collided with a tree and overturned.
While the driver was reported hurt, the THP did not immediately disclose the patient’s condition.
No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.
