Tanker truck fatally hits pedestrian in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, TN – A pedestrian died after getting struck by a tanker truck at the intersection of State Route 7 and Blackburn Road before 10:45 a.m. Friday. 

WKRN said the events unfolded when the pedestrian, who was initially standing on the State Route 7 shoulder, walked onto the road and was hit by the incoming 2022 Kenworth straight truck going south. 

The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He has since been identified as Daniel Reese from Tennessee. 

The Tennessee Department of Transportation temporarily shut down both directions and reopened all lanes before 12:30 p.m. 

No citations or charges have been reported.
