Speeding leads to fatal collision involving 18-wheeler in Sullivan Co.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN – Speeding was a contributing factor in a Sullivan County collision that killed a Porsche driver and injured a Porsche passenger and an 18-wheeler driver Friday.

Tennessee Highway Patrol told WIJHL that the events unfolded around 4:45 p.m. on Highway 75 when the Porsche Taycan driver, a 51-year-old man, was speeding and lost control of his sports car. As a result, he drifted out of his northbound lane and into the southbound lane and crashed into the 18-wheeler.

The 51-year-old man died from his injuries and has since been identified as Hunter Morrow, a Tennessee resident.

The Porsche passenger and truck driver were left with unspecified injuries. Troopers did not confirm if they were sent to the hospital, but verified that all occupants involved wore their seatbelts.
