CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN — As many as three tractor-trailers were involved in a wreck Thursday night on Interstate 75 near southeast Caryville, reports WBIR.
The accident occurred on the northbound lanes at mile marker 133 and was first reported by the Tennessee Department of Transportation at about 8:30 p.m. At the time of the initial report, a traffic backup had stretched down to Anderson Highway.
While it’s unclear what led up to the multi-vehicle crash, one big rig came to rest in the median while the others came to a stop off the right side of the highway.
Motorists were advised that traffic in the area could remain impacted as crews spend Thursday and potentially Friday recovering the semis.
Icy road conditions and other disabled vehicles in the area were also expected to affect commute times.
No injuries have been confirmed at this time.
