MEMPHIS, TN – Police were on the scene of a fiery semi truck crash that partially shut down traffic on I-20 late last night, Fox 13 reports.
Police were called to I-240 near the Watkins Street exit at approximately 11 p.m. last night. They arrived to find a badly damaged semi truck that had apparently ignited. Memphis Fire Department units were also called to the scene.
Authorities were still there more than five and a half hours later, by which point they had closed all westbound lanes until further notice.
No other information is available at this time. It is unclear what happened to the driver of the truck or whether anyone else was involved. However, Fox 13 referred to the crash as “deadly.”
We will provide further updates should they become available.
