ROBERTSON COUNTY, TN — A 37-year-old man lost his life Monday evening following a pedestrian crash on Interstate 65 in Robertson County, according to FOX 17.
Authorities say the fatal incident occurred moments after the victim, Thomas Shack, crashed his own vehicle on the highway.
Preliminary details released by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) show that Thomas Shack’s car had come to rest in the median when he exited the vehicle and tried to cross the southbound lanes. Shortly after, he was struck by a 2020 Freightliner.
Officials confirmed that Shack died as a result of his injuries.
While the driver of the big rig was reported hurt, his condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate.
