SILVER POINT, TN – A 30-year-old man was airlifted to a hospital after his Dodge pickup truck driver struck the back of a big rig, and after that big rig was hit by another tractor-trailer.
This collision took place on I-40 West on Wednesday, according to WSMV. The impact led the pickup truck to become trapped under the first tractor-trailer.
After this initial crash happened, a driver of a second tractor-trailer tried to avoid striking these vehicles but was unsuccessful and came into contact with the first tractor-trailer. As a result, the cab from the first big rig fell off.
The two big rig motorists and the pickup truck driver, 34-year-old Cameron Clark, were all unharmed. Juan Medina, the Dodge pickup truck passenger, is recovering at a hospital where his condition is unknown.
Officials shut down the westbound directions but reopened all lanes by 8 a.m.
