Fatality confirmed in semi crash along I-40 near Lebanon

WILSON CO., TN – A single-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler in eastern Wilson County, Tennessee, claimed the life of a Mississippi truck driver on Wednesday.

According to WSMV 4, the collision occurred near mile marker 248 on I-40. This is just east of Lebanon and near Truckers Crossroads.

Police say that 61-year-old Joseph A. Blackburn lost control of his Peterbilt semi at a curve in the interstate. The 18-wheeler travelled off of the roadway and impacted with several trees.

Blackburn sustained fatal injuries.

It does not appear that there were any passengers in the truck at the time of the accident.

A full investigation is underway.
