Driver hospitalized after semi-truck collides with tanker in Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, TN – A truck driver was hospitalized following a crash involving two semi-trucks in southwest Chattanooga on Saturday morning.

According to a report by Local 3, a tanker truck hauling canola oil was topped on the shoulder of I-24 near Browns Ferry Road at about 6 a.m. when it was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer that was hauling garbage.

The driver of the striking vehicle, an unidentified man, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He received a citation for failure to maintain lane and reckless driving.
