Authorities investigate fatal SUV vs semi crash on I-24 in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, TN — A crash between an SUV and a semi-truck last Wednesday, January 17, on Interstate 24 in Jasper claimed at least one life, reports Sequatchie Valley Now.

The collision occurred at mile marker 155, near Chasey Simpson Road and Parkridge West Hospital.

An early investigation found that an SUV collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer, though no other information about the circumstances has been made available.

Authorities confirmed that at least one person died as a result of the wreck.

At the time of the report, Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) crews were working to clear the interstate, which was still covered in ice and snow.

Traffic in the area was being re-routed at Exit 152.
