WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TN — A dump truck was involved in a multi-vehicle accident Tuesday night in Franklin that claimed the life of one person and left another in critical condition, according to WSMV.
Following the crash on New Highway 96 near Westhaven Boulevard at around 5:50 p.m., one patient was rushed to Williamson Medical Center where they succumbed to their injuries, confirmed the Franklin Police Department. Another victim with life-threatening injuries was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The circumstances behind the accident remain under investigation at this time, but a dump truck was one of three vehicles involved.
During an hours-long road closure, motorists were instructed to avoid the area as crews worked to process the scene.
