SPARTANBURG CO., SC – A dump truck crash on I-26 near Spartanburg on Monday evening left one man dead.
According to WYFF, the collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of the interstate near the exit to Reidville Road at about 5 p.m.
Investigators say the driver lost control of the truck for unknown reasons and veered across all lanes of the roadway, slamming into a tree on the eastbound side.
The driver, 52-year-old Brian Scott Stankus, of Woodruff, was pronounced dead at the scene.
