HORRY COUNTY, SC — A multi-vehicle collision that caused a big rig to overturn last Thursday near Loris had one person airlifted to a hospital, according to WBTW News 13.
The accident was reported near North Highway 701 at Waccamaw Drive, in an area south of the North Carolina border. Horry County Fire Rescue crews were dispatched to the scene at around 6:51 a.m.
Few details have been made available, but the big rig was involved in a crash with at least one other vehicle.
One of the involved parties, whose identity remains undisclosed, was flown by medical helicopter to an area hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately clear.
Tabor City Fire Department crews also assisted at the scene, where a small volume of fuel had leaked onto the roadway.
An investigation by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety was underway.
